PEACE GAMES AND J.P. LICKS SERVE UP A TASTE OF S’WORLD PEA= CE

Proceeds to be= nefit violence prevention efforts; Ray Sozzi joins Board of Directors<= /i>

BOSTON= 212;Peace Games, a non-profit organization dedicated to ending the escalating trend of violence in this country by teaching children to become peacemakers in their schools and communities, Vince Petryk, founder of J.P. Licks, and local businessman, Ray Sozzi, today unveiled S’World Peace.  The original flavor, a sweet cream= ice cream with chunks of brownie and a mint fudge swirl, will be sold in J.P. L= icks locations throughout the city with 10 percent of the proceeds benefiting Pe= ace Games.  This partnership marks= the first time in company history that J.P. Licks donated exclusive naming righ= ts and flavor creation to a non-profit organization.

“We thank Vince and his team at J.P. Licks for t= heir collaboration on this project,” said Eric D. Dawson, president of Peace Games.  “We are all worried a= bout the increase in violence throughout Boston.  By purchasing S’World Peace this month, people will be directly helpi= ng Peace Games to bring peacemaking skills to elementary school children in the city.  This is a fun, easy way for people to give back.”

Vince Petryk, founder of J.P. Licks, stated, “As= a victim of childhood violence doled out by my classmates and other peers, I = know personally how it feels to be victimized, humiliated and alone. Peace Games= is a laudable organization which strives to end these forms of abuse, which ha= ve lifelong consequences.”

 =

J.P. Licks donated the ice cream flavor to Peace Games= to auction at their annual School House Rocks fundraiser held in April.  The popular item was part of a competitive bidding war that was eventually won by local businessman, Ray Sozzi, a long-time Peace Games supporter a= nd the newest member of the organization’s Board of Directors.  Last month, Sozzi worked with the = J.P. Licks team to create the custom flavor that will be available in stores for= the next 30 days.

“We are also very pleased to welcome one of Boston’s most successful entrepreneurs to our Board,” stated Dawson. “Ray has been a tremendous supporter of and mentor to Peace Games for many years and we are excited to have his energy and leadership experience = as we embark on an ambitious growth plan to triple the number of young peacema= kers we interact with each year in = Boston.”
